He's well known in the industry, having produced television specials for the likes of Ian Thorpe, Dylan Lewis, Pia Miranda, and Cassandra McGrath. Now, showing that his talents don't just lie behind the scenes, one of Australia's newest and hottest comedic stars, Melbourne born and bred television producer Frank Lotito, stars in his own one-man comedy show set to kick off in Melbourne from March 28 with ITS ALL ITALIANO TO ME.
Sharing his personal stories on stage, the show is all about Frank growing up in downtown Brunswick, covering his father's journey to the 'new country' as well as Frank's fears, loves, and life as an Italian Australian. Frank is part of a unique line-up of comedians who look at growing up in multicultural Australia - a genre of comedy that is a huge hit in Australia.
The show is co-produced by none other than world-renowned King of Italian comedy, Joe Avati, who has recently turned to the production of big comedy acts. Australia's only Sri-Lankan comedian Nish, star of 2007's IL DAGO, will support Frank for the two-month tour.
ITS ALL ITALIANO TO ME is a return to Frank's first love, stand-up comedy. However, Frank has also been performing in front of the camera on and off for years. In 2004, he presented for Channel 7's Discover travel program, and has appeared in episodes of Blue Heelers, The Secret Life of Us, Thank God You're Here, Neighbours and the Comedy Channel's Stand Up Australia. Some of Frank's Theatre credits include The Blind Man (La Mama Theatre), The Wedding (Broccoli Productions), What's Goin' On and just last year showcased his comedy nationwide as part of Joe Avati and Friends.
One of Frank's most recent projects as a producer was working on the Ian Thorpe documentary, Fish Out of Water as well as a new comedy for the Movie Network, So Now You're Famous directed by Richard Gray.
