The Mikado is the most popular Gilbert and Sullivan Opera, and arguably the most popular comic opera ever written. It has delighted audiences for more than a century, and spawned a number of imitations
The Gilbert & Sullivan Company Of Australia is back for 2008 with their brand new show. Following the outstanding success of their hysterical production and world first HMS PINAFORE which toured in 2006, the gang are returning with a fantastic new treatment of the most popular Gilbert & Sullivan Classic of all time THE MIKADO.
The show hosts a new cast of characters. Why on earth is Peter Allen there? What’s Dean Martin doing in the production? Kamahl? These and others will make a guest appearance in this production.
Starring In this production is the very funny and highly acclaimed actor Brian Hannan. Best remembered for his 9 years on ABC TV “BellBird” and many JC Williamson musicals. Brian wowed audiences in 2006 with his hysterical portrayal of Sir Joseph Porter in HMS Pinafore. This year he will play the comic leading role of KoKo. Naturally Brian will bring to life many new characters as well.
“Brian Hannan has to be the man of 1000 voices and he delivered an outstanding performance” The Melbourne Age
“Raw Energy Propelled This Cast To Brilliance…The Capacity Audience Loved It” The Melbourne Age
