After a sell-out tour of Japan, where the show won Best Design at the Japan Times Theatre Awards, The Window, an original theatre and multi-media work, comes to the Bakehouse Theatre for the Adelaide Fringe 2008
The Window is an archetypal tale of growth and redemption, but it is also a very simple, personal story about a woman at the crossroads of daughterhood and motherhood... Above all, it is a story of hope.
Directed by Mark Bromilow, Queensland-based director who brought us the award-winning production of Sophocles' Antigone at the Bakehouse in 2003 and starring Melbourne's Julie Eckersley (MTC, Bell Shakespeare, Newstopia, The Wedge) and Sydney's Jo Turner (STC, Belvoir, La Boite, You Cant Stop The Murders).
"A deeply moving story...powerful performances...stunning live
visuals...enthralling original score...One of the best productions in
Tokyo this year. Beautifully paced and interspersed with delightful
humour, The Window will live for a long time in audiences' hearts,
wherever it is staged" - Nobuka Taraka, The Japan Times
