This Is How It Goes | Fishy Productions Print
This Is How It GoesFrom the playwright of The Shape Of Things, The Company of Men and Fat Pig comes the New York and London hit This Is How It Goes.

Neil LaBute is one of America's most controversial dramatists, successfully portraying everyday life and confrontingly honest social themes, exposing audiences to the ugly side of human nature.

Cody and Belinda are high school sweethearts who married for better, or for (mostly) worse.  They were the dream interracial couple, he was the sports hero, she the cheerleader, however 12 years and 2 children later they are locked in resentment and regret. When an old classmate returns to town, he sees Belinda at the mall and a flirtation begins; pulling them into a triangle of love, racism and distrust. Compelled by their desires, LaBute’s characters manipulate each other and the audience, disguising their true colours and questionable morals.

All is not what it seems as truth, time and probability are twisted, in this thrilling tale of intrigue and betrayal.  This Is How It Goes challenges the audience to re-evaluate their own beliefs.

This Is How It Goes marks the fourth production by Fishy Productions in collaboration with Darlinghurst Theatre Company following the highly successful productions Sixty Six Minutes, Fuddy Meers, and Dinner with Friends. The multi-award winning writer, actor and director Toby Schmitz joins the production as director. Toby's writing credits include the award winning plays, Lucky, Chicks Will Dig You! and This Blasted Earth- which he also directed. Toby's acting credits include Hanging Man, Major Barbara, The Great Man, School For Scandal, Self Esteem and the films Rage In Placid Lake and Somersault to name a few. Toby is joined by the highly talented design team of Brigid Dighton, Allan Hirons and Jeremy Silver.

Wayne McDaniel (Cody) is a former All-Star in the Australian National Basketball League. He was voted one of the top 25 all-time players. Wayne is currently court announcer for the Sydney Kings games. Rebecca Rocheford Davies (Belinda) trained with Sanford Meisner in LA, while there she acted in Santa Barbara, Days of Our Lives, and The Young and the Restless. She recently produced and performed in Fishy Production's first film Rex. Patrick Brammall (The Man) co-wrote and performed in The Suitors which won the best Independent Production in the Sydney Theatre Awards, as well as The Philip Parsons Award.
