Three acclaimed duos present three early evening recitals over the Perth Writers Festival.
Duo 1: Miwako Abe, violin & Michael Kieran Harvey, piano
The energy of Strauss' early violin sonata contrasts with Debussy's sonata - his last completed work - in this programme that also features new works by Mark Pollard and young Japanese composer Kanako Okamoto.
Duo 2: Genevieve Lacey, recorder & Marshall McGuire, harp
Two ancient instruments come together with contemporary originality in a programme covering more than 400 years. Includes miniatures by Mendelssohn, 17th century dance music and new works by John Surman and Andrew Ford.
Duo 3: Craig Ogden, guitar & Paul Tanner, percussion
The spirit of tango with beats from Latin America infuse this diverse programme of music from around the world. Featuring works by Piazzolla, Nigel Westlake and Chick Corea.
