 International icons of glamour and intrigue, Mikelangelo & Undine Francesca return to Hobart with their spellbinding kabaret noir - The Honeymoon Suite. Prepare to be plunged into a netherworld of dreams and desire as these transcontinental lovebirds tour their favourite honeymoon suites, preying upon the spectres of loves past. Mikelangelo & Undine Francesca have entranced audiences and critics from London to New York to Montreal and were a five-star cult hit at the 2007 Edinburgh Festival.
Mikelangelo last performed in Hobart to sold out audiences at Ten Days on the Island with his internationally acclaimed cabaret ensemble Mikelangelo and the Black Sea Gentlemen. Now he returns to Hobart with Undine Francesca to perform at the Hobart Summer Festival. They will be joined by their new band The Spectres of Love, featuring Azzy Trew (formerly of psychobilly exponents Zombie Ghost Train) on vibraphone, exotic percussion and traps, and Dirk Kruithof (of Sydney legends Waiting For Guiness) on electrical guitar, echo chamber and tremolo atmospherics.
