 Straight from a successful season at the Comedy Festival, where they won artists choice “Best Improv at Comedy at Trades 2007”, Jim Lawson and Glenn Manton in “The Infamous Spraygeltent” are pushing the boundaries of comedy, this time at Carlton Football Club and North Melbourne Town Hall, for 6 shows only from October 5th
In three separate encounters; the “Before game” rev up, the ”Half- time” encouragement, and an “after the game” spray, coach Glenn Manton, former AFL premiership player, struggles with the talents of this newly recruited and bottom of the ladder AFL team KAAALTON.
This is a team stripped of its assets through bad luck or mismanagement, and newly appointed coach Manton plans his financial future, as he sends out his team, (you the audience), to do battle on the field and secure his ongoing contract.
Only one of the many problems he has to face, is that he is saddled with his Under 12’s coach, JAYCO Jim Lawson, after promising to take him along when he reaches the top.
There is football, comedy, pathos, grim reality, and you the team, and it all takes place in a sweaty locker room (sort of), where some of the truth of AFL is revealed….
“The Infamous Spraygeltent” is not your average Comedy gig.
