Brilliant MonkeyAfter a sell out season at the Old Fitzroy Theatre, Riverside Theatres and Pork Chop Productions present BRILLIANT MONKEY at Riverside Theatres from Tuesday 9 October for six shows only. This new Australian play written by Alan Dukes is the inspiring story of a returned Australian serviceman who is reunited with his homeless elder brother. BRILLIANT MONKEY is directed by Jeremy Sims and stars Alan Dukes and Warwick Young.
 
Gerard has returned from active service in Afghanistan, suffering a traumatic brain injury. While he awaits classification by his military assessors he is reunited with his homeless elder brother Danny. Together they hold the keys to the doors of their past and, unexpectedly, their future. BRILLIANT MONKEY is a heart-breaking comedy that will leave you reflecting on your own family.
 
Alan Dukes has appeared on stage as well as on television. His theatre credits include Ruby’s Last Dollar and Last Cab to Darwin for Pork Chop Productions, Alive at Williamstown Pier for Griffin Theatre Company and Unlikely Prospect of Happiness. Alan’s television credits include Home and Away, Snobs, The Junction Boys and All Saints.
 
Warwick Young graduated from the University of Southern Queensland and has appeared on stage, on television and has also had roles in numerous films. Warwick’s theatre credits include The Prisoner, The Preacher and The President for Short and Sweet Festival, Everyman for Sydney Fringe Festival, The Dreamer Examines His Pillow for Bondi Pavilion, Bouncers for Theatre South and Death Defying Acts for Marian Street Theatre. His television credits include roles in Home and Away, Small Claims 2, Young Lions and Water Rats. Warwick’s film credits include The Battle of Long Tan, Superman, Stealth, The Great Raid, The Pact, Code 1114 and After The Rain.
 
Jeremy Sims is an actor and director. He has directed last Cab To Darwin and The Return for Pork Chop Productions and The Shape of Things for Sydney Theatre Company. He has also appeared on stage for STC in The Club. Jeremy’s television credits include Fireflies, The Secret Life of Us, Stingers, Young Lions and The Bill.
