Directed by Chris Kabay with musical direction by Simon Holt, RENT provides a scorchingly hot modern take on Puccini's La Boheme
and is considered the greatest rock musical of modern times. This
stirring musical centres on a group of impoverished young artists and
musicians struggling to survive and create in New York City’s Bohemian
East Village. Searching for love and dealing with loss these artists
and musicians choose to embrace life as if there is NO DAY BUT TODAY!
RENT has been the winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, the
Obie Award, the New York Drama Critics Circle Award, four Tony Awards
and three Drama Desk Awards and is one of the longest running Broadway
musicals of all time.
yellow glass theatre inc’s recent theatrical credits include the
hit musicals HAIR, RENT and Company, the critically acclaimed opera The
Marriage of Figaro, the Australian Premiere of I SING! and the touching
Anthems for Doomed Youth. Other credits include musical revues The
World Goes ‘Round and Putting it Together, cabaret performances
Swallow!, A Splash of Yellow, My Friends Went Overseas & All They
Brought Me Back Was This Lousy Cabaret Act, Rainy Days & Mondays –
Songs of the Carpenters and the book musical Little Shop of Horrors.
