Two of Perth’s most delightful and talented sopranos, Tamsyn Stock-Stafford and Penny Shaw, explore these eternal preoccupations from an operatic point of view.
This lively program of arias and duets includes excerpts from Carmen, La Traviata, Faust, Madame Butterfly and The Marriage of Figaro; along with some lesser-known offerings that may be new discoveries for some.
Tamsyn won the country’s most prestigious singing award – the Australian Singing Competition’s Opera Awards - and was recently Young Artist for the West Australian Opera. Penny has sung principal roles for many companies including English Touring Opera and European Chamber Opera and played Carlotta in The Phantom of the Opera. She has supported international ‘popera’ group Il Divo during its Australian tour and has many times starred in the Vienna Pops New Year’s Eve concert at Perth Concert Hall. Tamsyn and Penny recently starred in The Marriage of Figaro for Eventainment.
