Bliss is a surreal fantasy whose narratives snake their way between reality and dream, both outrageous and perceptive by turns. The Stage UK

Shannon Murphy returns to B Sharp after her remarkable production of My Name is Rachel Corrie, with the Australian premiere of Bliss. A visual and visceral feast which explores the cult of celebrity, Bliss intertwines the lives of three very different women: the pop-goddess ‘Celine’, the despairing Isabel and an ordinary check-out chick. This is a constant blend of reality and fantasy in a striking fusion of comedy and horror.
Québécois playwright Olivier Choinière offers a wild reality check for our modern world. Translated by one of the UK’s most influential playwrights, Caryl Churchill, Bliss certainly marches to the beat of its own drum.
