At last! The legendary smash hit show makes its Sydney Opera House debut.

After wowing crowds at this year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Adelaide Cabaret Festival, the cast of Spontaneous Broadway will create a new musical every night in the Playhouse for 10 shows from June 24.

Have you ever wanted to make a Broadway musical? Fast, funny and brilliant, Spontaneous Broadway is everything musical comedy should be… and too often isn’t.

This hilarious theatrical experience is different every night and a delight for all ages.

Created by original song titles written by the audience, the cast pitch a brand new musical to the crowd and improvise the title song.

Solos, duets, dance numbers and plot lines are made up on the spot, and after all the songs have been performed, the audience votes for the entire show they wish to see.

Spontaneous Broadway’s talented team of impro all-stars includes Julia Zemiro, Genevieve Morris, Geoff Paine and Ross Daniels with host Russell Fletcher and John Thorn as musical director.

The cast will also be joined by special guests during the season including Julia Morris.

Spontaneous Broadway was invented by Kat Koppett for New York Theatresports and is performed all over the world.

Since its initial season at the Melbourne Fringe Festival in 2001 where it won the special Palme D’Broadway jury prize, Australia’s Spontaneous Broadway has enjoyed wonderful yet brief seasons due to availability constraints of its talent yet in-demand cast.

Finally together again, it’s now Sydney’s turn to enjoy this edge-of-your-seat entertainment experience.
