Hamlet | La Boite Print
This might be the greatest play ever written.

Hamlet is Shakespeare’s cleverest hero, and maybe the sexiest too. We want to be him, be friends with him, or sleep with him. He is son, lover, friend, student, comedian, actor, director, brilliant visionary and expert swordsman. And he’s a Prince.

Yet for all this astonishing variety, he walks the world with us and asks our questions. It’s a pleasure to be in his company as we ride with him, white-knuckled and sweaty, through one of drama’s most compelling and contemporary stories.

We’re thrilled to have one of Australia’s most riveting actors as the Prince of Denmark. Toby Schmitz has played a string of dazzling leading roles for most of the country’s major theatre companies, and we think his Hamlet will be one to prize.

David Berthold directs his first production as Artistic Director of La Boite, leading a top-shelf team of artists in an event that is certain to astonish.
