Darlington Theatre players are proud to announce their forthcoming production of J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan; a worthy choice for the final season in 2008.
Sir James Matthew Barrie introduced this timeless classic of the boy who would not grow up to a sceptical then delighted Edwardian audience at the Duke of York Theatre in London in 1904.
The director, Douglas Sutherland-Bruce (Romeo and Juliet and The Importance of Being Earnest), has focused on this enchanting play as written over one hundred years ago.
Although not a pantomime or musical, with the wonderful sets (designed by Richard Coleman), the rascally pirates and Red Indians and, of course, Nana the dog, it is sure to delight all age groups.
Sir James Barrie donated the royalties to Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and although that does not apply now, Darlington Theatre Players will be donating part proceeds to Princess Margaret Children’s Hospital in Perth.
The large cast features Amy Rusotti as Peter Pan, Victoria Luxton as Wendy and Eliot McCann as both Mr. Darling and Captain Hook.
