After 4 years of planning and preparation and a season in Sydney, Kookaburra,
Australia’s only national musical theatre company, finally lands in Melbourne on September 2nd at Her Majesty’s
Theatre, with Andrew Lloyd Weber’s Tell me On a Sunday starring Jolene Anderson.
“We have been waiting for this moment for some time but wanted to get
everything right before coming to wonderful Melbourne and spreading

whom audiences will recognise from her current lead role as Nurse Erica
Templeton on All Saints. Jolene was also winner, with David Campbell,
of Channel 7’s hit TV talent show It Takes Two in 2007.
“Jolene brings enormous honesty and heart to this role in a way that
intimately connects with Australian audiences everywhere”, says
Kookaburra’s Peter Ross and director of Tell Me On A Sunday.
Andrew Lloyd Webber and Don Black's revised Tell Me On A Sunday charts
the course of a single girl arriving in New York. Brimming with the
optimism of ‘starting over’ she sets out to seek success, companionship
and, of course, love. But as she weaves her way through the maze of the
city and her own anxieties, frustrations and heartaches she begins to
wonder whether - in fact - she's been looking for love in all the wrong
places.
Andrew Lloyd Webber is one of the most prolific composers of our time
having composed the music for Jesus Christ Superstar, The Phantom Of
The Opera, Cats, Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and
Sunset Boulevard.
Kookaburra, Australia's national musical theatre company was
established in 2006 by Peter Cousens with the ambition of being
Australia’s key organisation for the development and promotion of
musical theatre. “As a company with charitable tax status, we have
created a blueprint for a musical theatre company never before seen in
Australia.” says Cousens.
