With a theme of ‘X’, this year we see emerging Artist Kym Begg, Local Director/Actor/Writer Michael Hill and Artistic Director Glenn Hayden join forces to direct the 2009 season of Out of the Boot. Three ensembles of 32 young actors from 14 to 17 yrs of age will present four half hour plays from Adelaide and Canberra, at Holden Street Theatres Hindmarsh from 2-4 July.

In 2009, Urban presents its fourth season of ‘Out Of The Boot’ – a program that Urban Myth is extremely excited about and has committed to produce on an annual basis. Encompassing four terms of our workshop program, it is designed to encourage, support and nourish young artists through a series of mentorships. As a result, it has been the breeding ground for 3 winners of the State Theatre Company’s acclaimed Young Guns Playwright Awards, given 5 emerging Directors a kick start to their careers and has produced 10 fantastic plays by young members of Urban Myth Theatre of Youth.
