I started writing at the age of four and have been writing ever since. Aside from my writing my other hobby is music...........i started playing the violin when i was a small child and since growing up have abandoned the seemingly small violin for a bigger one - the cello!
I have studied Music, Philosophy and Communications at the University of New England and am currently completing studies in Publishing.
Since completing my first round of tertiary education, I have gone on to carve out a varied career the in arts, entertainment, advertising and publishing industries.
Over the years I have worked as an Editor, Production Manager, Advertising Manager, Writer/Journalist, Media Analyst & Media/Communications Officer. Note that to date i have not ever been a payed musician, i like it this way too.
As writing is what i have primarily focused on as a vocation, I have had many articles published on topics such as politics, alternative health and medicine and the arts. I have also amassed volumes of poetry which i hope to have published as a collection of works. Throughout my years at University i wrote for the student newspaper and was also involved in sudent politics.
I continue to write, filling up journals with personal musings and prose. Language is what i know best. I love words and my favourite book is the dictionary. It is the fine craft of writing and human communication that i am striving to perfect this lifetime.
My philosophy on this subject has always been "To be a great writer, you need to not only read tirelessly, but write endlessly". This i do, and am constantly looking for more opportunities where I can continue to hone my craft. |
