Biography: Amy Hyslop is an emerging Brisbane writer. She completed a Bachelor of Arts (Art History) through The University of Queensland in 2000. After finishing her studies she started work on the Arts Queensland-funded solo performance piece Where is Joy? based on the controversial life of Melbourne artist Joy Hester.
In 2004 she was mentored by the prolific local playwright Norman Price (Urban Dingoes, Barking Dogs) and in 2005 worked with Brisbane-based dramaturg Saffron Benner. Where is Joy? has subsequently received further development funding from Arts Queensland, has been performed at Metro Arts.
