Cinderella on Ice was a show rich with talented skaters demonstrating their high calibre abilities, but disappointingly, nothing more.

What I saw was a great mutation of the traditional Cinderella story with an ultimately indecipherable narrative dusted with hollow theatrics and stage trickery. I found the sets to be bland and the costumes dull and uninspired. The music was possibly some of the worst recorded soundtracking I've heard and might have saved the show had it been performed live by an orchestra.

Sure, this performance may be considered aesthetically pleasing, dramatic or even dazzling by some, however I found little to entertain me in the two hours of technically impressive, yet repetitive, 'routines'.

If you enjoy watching incredible ice skaters with phenomenal skills, speed and stamina, don't miss it (great lifts and triple axels!). If you want to see (or for your children to see) the Cinderella story staged in a theatrically coherent and enjoyable fashion, I strongly recommend you avoid it.
